Whitby Denture Clinic Answers Your Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long will it take to repair my dentures?

A: Most of our denture repairs are conducted while you wait. Depending on the severity of your broken dentures we might require a few more hours to correct the problem.

Q: When should I replace my dentures?

A: Dentures need to be replaced about every 5 years, or sooner if they are causing you problems. Just like a regular dentist appointment, you should have your dentures checked annually by your denturist. Schedule your appointment with our denturist Chris A. Dimopoulos today.

Q: How should I clean my dentures?

A: Several brands of denture cleaners are available in the market. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch your denture’s surface. Some denture cleaners can even make stains stick to your dentures. If you aren’t sure what denture cleaner is best for you, just ask us.

Q: How frequently should I take out my dentures?

A: Give your mouth a rest from time to time by taking out your dentures at night or at least two hours during the day.

Q: I suspect I might have sleep apnea. What should I do?

A: Discuss your concerns with your primary care physician and schedule a free consultation with Chris A. Dimopoulos to discuss potential treatment with an Oral Sleep Appliance.

Q: I have a CPAP machine but I can’t wear it. Are there alternative options?

A: Yes! Dental Sleep Medicine provides options such as an Oral Sleep Appliance or combination therapy which can dramatically increase treatment success.

Q: When I receive my new dentures will I have to continue to use adhesive?

A: Not usually. Most of the time new dentures can restore the poor fit and function of an old ill-fitting or worn out set. Occasionally, due to anatomical obstacles or extreme recession of the oral ridges, some secondary retention might be necessary, such as adhesive or some consideration towards implants.

Q: Do you recommend implants for everyone?

A: No! Although implantology is very successful, implants are not the solution for every problem. If you think you might benefit from getting implants, please contact us for your free consultation.

Q: Can I schedule a free consultation?

A: Yes! Consultations are free with no obligations at Whitby Denture Clinic – CHRIS A. DIMOPOULOS
